2023 - Acquisition of Business Operations of Schmid & Kahlert GmbH & Co.KG.

As of May 1, 2023, Christ Logistics took over the business operations and property of the forwarding and warehouse company Schmid & Kahlert GmbH & Co.KG at Wiesbaden, Germany. The long-established logistics company, with its focus on national and international relocations, worldwide relocation logistics, modern Iveco-workshop, and large storage areas, complements and strengthens the range of services and presence in the Rhine-Main area.

2022 - Merger of Bart & Timm GmbH with Christ Logistik

At the turn of the year 2021/2022, the Esslingen-based furniture logistics company Bart & Timm GmbH will be fully merged with Christ Logistik. The market presence of Christ Logistik will be strengthened by a uniform appearance.

2008 – climate neutral services

Protecting the environment is a clear goal for Christ Removals. Besides reducing its CO2 emissions in all its activities the company also started to provide climate neutral services. Learn more in “protecting the environment”.

2008 - ims International Moving Services was acquired

As international moves were increasing Christ Removals acquired ims in Frankfurt. This strengthens the company’s position in international and overseas moves.

2005 - takeover of Bart & Timm GmbH

With the takeover of Esslinger Removals the moving market around Stuttgart continues to cover.

2003 – the Bern office in Switzerland was founded

To optimize and expand its activities in the removals industry further Christ founded an office in Bern, Switzerland.

2002 – a new location was built in Heilbronn

Until 2002 Christ Removals was active in various locations. In that year the company built a new headquarter and concentrated its activities in one place.

1997 – starting trade fair business

Since 1997 Christ Removals has continuously expanded its activities in the trade fair industry. This opened up a new target group for the company. And this new sector completed its services since the existing infrastructure, the fleet and the carpentry could also be used for the trade fair business.

1994 – ISO certification

Christ Removals introduced a quality management system and became ISO 9001:2000 certified.

1990 – focus on the core business

Christ Removals sold its forwarding business and focussed on warehouse logistics and moves.

1986 – the Boeblingen office was founded

The foundation of the Boeblingen office further increased Christ Removals’ services in the advertising business.

1984 – warehouse logistics

Christ Removals opened up warehouse logistics as a new sector and started to offer various services related to storage – from supply chain management to value added services.

1980

1978 to 1980 – younger generations take over

During this period the fourth generation of the family Christ joined the company and ensured that it remained a family run business.

1971 – Confern Containerpool is founded

As an extension of the original Confern Group Christ Removals and various other forwarding companies founded Confern Containerpool. The idea was to facilitate transport by rail by using containers. Up until now Containerpool plc. has become the leading provider for renting and leasing containers and semi-trailers.

1967 – an office in Stuttgart is founded

Christ Removals founded its Stuttgart office to further expand its activities in the county of Baden-Wuerttemberg and also its transport by rail.

1966 – The Confern Group is founded

To increase the company’s performance Christ Removals and 13 other forwarding companies jointly found the Confern Group. This powerful network enables Christ Removals to use their transport capacity more efficiently and avoid empty drives.

1950 – foundation and consolidation

When Andreas Christ founded the removals company in 1914 he carried out transport with horse and cart and one rail car. Shortly after the company’s foundation he extended his fleet by acquiring a furniture transport business. In 1925 Otto Christ junior joined the company and expansion continued. The junior manager changes the complete fleet to engine powered vehicles and thereby creates the basis for further growth. Another important milestone inChrist Removals’ history is 1951 when Otto Christ junior took over from his father. Under his management the transport business is expanded and intensified.
